Perbandingan Nilai Vo₂Max Antara Kelompok Indeks Massa Tubuh (IMT) Normal Dan Tidak Normal

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbandingan nilai VO₂max antara kelompok IMT normal dan tidak normal. Kelebihan berat badan sering dihubungkan dengan tingkat kebugaran yang rendah. VO₂max merupakan indikator utama kebugaran kardiorespirasi yang mencerminkan kemampuan tubuh dalam mengonsumsi oksigen secara maksimal saat aktivitas fisik. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian  komparatif dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Sampel sebanyak 24 responden yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi, jenis kelamin laki-laki, usia 18-25 tahun, kondisi sehat, sesuai kategori IMT dan bersedia menjadi responden. Instrumen penelitian yaitu timbangan berat badan (kg), stadiometer (cm) untuk menghitung IMT dan beep test untuk mengukur nilai VO2max. Teknik analisis data menggunakan Mann-Whitney U test. Hasil uji Mann-Whitney menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan nilai VO₂max antara kelompok IMT normal dan tidak normal (p = 0,642). Nilai mean difference sebesar 0,800 menunjukkan bahwa selisih rata-rata antar kelompok relatif kecil. Selain itu, rentang confidence interval 95% (-2,60 hingga 4,00) mencakup angka nol, yang semakin menegaskan bahwa perbedaan tersebut tidak signifikan secara statistik. Nilai effect size sebesar -0,0799 juga menunjukkan bahwa kekuatan perbedaan antar kelompok sangat lemah atau hampir tidak ada. Kesimpulan tidak terdapat perbedaan signifikan nilai VO₂max antara kelompok IMT normal dan tidak normal.
