Abstract

This study aims to identify factors that influence the choice of contraceptives by women of childbearing age (WUS). The method used was a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design, involving 94 randomly selected WUS. Data was collected through a questionnaire which included factors such as age, parity and family support in using contraception. Data collection was carried out through direct interviews by distributing questionnaires. Data analysis was carried out using chi-square. Data processing with SPSS. The results of research from 94 respondents showed that 52.1% chose Non MKJP over IUD, there was a relationship between age and the choice of contraceptive device (p-value = 0.001), there is a relationship between family support and the choice of contraception (p-value = 0.008), there is no relationship between parity and the choice of contraception (p-value = 0.559). The sampling technique uses Accidental Sampling. The conclusion from each variable of age, parity and family support that is related to the choice of contraceptive methods is age and family support. The hope of the results of this research is to emphasize the importance of increasing health education to help WUS in choosing contraceptives that suit their conditions
