Abstract

Anemia is one of the global health issues, particularly among adolescent girls. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of anemia prevention education in improving the knowledge of adolescent girls in Cadaskertajaya Village, Telagasari Subdistrict, Karawang Regency. The research employed a pre-experimental design with a one-group pretest-posttest approach. A total of 35 adolescent girls aged 12–18 years were selected as research samples using purposive sampling. The study results revealed a significant increase in the average knowledge scores related to anemia, from 55.3 to 81.4 (p-value <0.001). Knowledge about anemia prevention measures also improved, from 59.8 to 86.7 (p-value <0.001). This transformation indicates that educational interventions through presentation media, interactive discussions, and leaflets effectively enhance the understanding of adolescent girls regarding the definition, symptoms, impacts, and preventive measures of anemia. Anemia prevention education has been proven effective in increasing the knowledge of adolescent girls in Cadaskertajaya Village. It is hoped that this program can be continued by involving schools and community health centers to support the sustainability of education.
